I have enjoyed my time at Notre Dame and my time studying abroad in London.  I graduated with a double major in Film, Television, and Theatre and Sociology, May 2019. Here's a recap of my four years at the University of Notre Dame.

I have played trumpet for four years as a Core member in the Notre Dame Marching Band and the Notre Dame Hockey Band.  I have also played in Trumpet Choir, Basketball Band, Symphonic Band and Winds, Saint Mary’s Concert Band, and saxophone in the University Band.  I've attended the Fiesta Bowl, Citrus Bowl and Cotton Bowl Classic games, played at Shamrock Series games in Boston, San Antonio, and in New York, where I also played on the Today Show, at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, and in Yankee Stadium. I also traveled to Pittsburgh, Michigan State, and Northwestern for other football games.  I have travelled twice to Manchester, NH, once to Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN, and once to Bridgeport, CT for Frozen Four tournaments. This year, I spent spring break in North Carolina with the band playing at both the Women’s and Men's Basketball ACC tournaments. I toured with the ND Band in South Africa for two weeks last summer. I have played on multiple occassions with the band “Chicago”, a sponsor of Notre Dame Bands.  I have earned pins each year for Marching Band for perfect attendance and was awarded a special monogrammed pillow for band members that exceed credit hour expectations. At the band banquet this spring, I received the Community Service Award from the Band of the Fighting Irish.  After teaching in the Salvation Army and Holy Cross Bandlink programs for a collective three years, I am finishing my band service this summer by teaching music for three weeks in New Zealand from a grant awarded to me from Notre Dame Bands.

I have had two jobs on campus.  Working for the College of Arts and Letters as a Production Assistant for three years, creating videos for the University of Notre Dame College of Arts and Letters website and working for Fighting Irish Media as a Production Assistant for two years, creating videos for live sporting events including football, hockey, men's and women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, and fencing.  Last spring I attended the Hollywood Movie and Entertainment Career Trek, chosen to attend because of my major in Film, Television, and Theatre.  This was a great way to learn about and network with others in the business.  Because of my involvement in the Hollywood Trek, I interned at Mark Woollen & Associates in Santa Monica, CA during the summer of 2018.

Although very busy as a full time student and working two jobs, I still found time to volunteer.  In addition to Bandlink, I volunteered at the Saint Joseph County Humane Society, organized fundraising for the Salvation Army Adopt a Family Christmas, directed the filming of a Todd Rundgren concert for the University of Notre Dame Department of Film, Television, and Theatre, and was one of two student members of the Notre Dame Fan Council, a Notre Dame Athletics Marketing Department Committee.

I have received many awards and honors.  I won best football hype video for my class that debuted on the new video board at Notre Dame Stadium during the Blue & Gold game for 2018 and was asked to produce another hype video for 2019.  I was awarded a scholarship, membership, and conference grant through the Association of Women in Sports Media (AWSM) and an internship with CNN Sports for the summer of 2019.  Just before graduation, I also received notice that my film “Snare”, created during my Advanced Production class, was being screened at an LA Film Festival.  The Notre Dame Department of Film, Television, and Theatre has invited me to attend the screening, talk about the creative process of her film and attend a reception in the honor of the three filmakers involved in“Snare.”  Unfortunaely, I had to pass on this opportunity because I was scheduled to attend the AWSM Conference in Tampa.

I am so fortunate to have so many opportunities.  I recently received a band award for Outstanding Community Service, and a personalized,  embroidered pillow for exceeding band credit hours over four years time.  I was also awarded one of the Notre Dame Bands summer internships in New Zealand, a long standing Notre Dame tradition teaching music.  After CNN I'll be home for a day, and then off to New Zealand for three weeks.  So exciting!!!

I was one of eight women in the country to receive an internship and scholarship from the Association of Women in Sports (AWSM).  Included is a monetary award of $1,000, a paid membership to AWSM, the Jim Brennan Scholarship, endowed by Christine Brennan, and the Sports Journalism Institute, to attend the national workshop in Tampa, and an internship at one of eight Host Employers.  I was interviewed by CNN and will be interning at their headquarters in Atlanta, summer of 2019.  Check out this great opportunity and see my bio on the AWSM website.

Fall Break!! It's been in the planning stages for a year and my friends and I are heading to Disney World.  We are staying at a Marriott's Cypress Harbour Resort and will enjoy Disney World, Mickey's Halloween Party, and Epcot.  So much to do at the resort too.  I'm so ready to relax, it's been a busy start to this school year and am looking forward to Fall Break.

Senior Plaiding Ceremony.  Thanks Uncle Mike!!

Once again, it's time for Band Link.  My favorite pastime working with area kids and sharing music.  I am a mentor for a sixth grader this year.  Every Sunday evening, a group of us give area children music lessons.  I am also making rosaries to donate to our dorm chapel at Welsh Family Hall.  This is something I've enjoyed since I was a Girl Scout and I continue to donate items I make for others to pray with.

Back on campus for Band Camp.  This year I am in Sorin's Band, this is the band that makes special appearances on gamedays throughout and around the Stadium.  This year, for the Shamrock Series, at Yankee Stadium, Sorin's Band will be featured on the Today Show.  Look for us to be playing the greatest of all fight songs, "The Notre Dame Victory March."  I'll post our schedule when it's closer.  Hard to believe I'm a Senior this year and my time here at Notre Dame is limited to my last two semesters.  I am on track to graduate with a dual degree in Film, Television & Theatre and Sociology.  Although, I am applying for future educational opportuities that might bring me back to campus next summer or fall.  I am very busy and loving every minute of it.  I am working for Fighting Irish Media, editing videos for game day videos, seen during home football games.  Anywhere between one and three of my videos are seen each gameday on the video board in Notre Dame Stadium.  I am also working for Communication Arts and Letters editing videos for their website.  So many great opportunites, so little time.

My summer Internship with Mark Woollen and Associates was a wonderful learning experience.  I worked with such a great group of editors and created my first official movie trailer, Ex Machina, using footage from their archives.  The experience taught me how important each aspect of the process is from the rough cut to finishing and choosing the right music.  Thank you Mark Woollen and Associates for such a great internship experience!
